1. Identify the seats and responsibilities:

Make a list of all the roles or “seats” you fill within your company. Include positions like CEO, CFO, Director of Sales, Lead Engineer, and more. Under each seat, list the specific responsibilities associated with that role.

2. Categorize tasks based on preference and proficiency:

Create four lists: Love/Great, Like/Good, Don’t Like/Good, and Don’t Like/Not Good. (i.e. I love and am great at Sales, I don’t like accounting and I’m not good at it). Assess each responsibility and place them in the corresponding list based on your preference and proficiency. Tasks that fall under Don’t Like/Not Good should be delegated as soon as possible.

Identify the tasks in the Don’t Like/Not Good list that can be delegated to others within your organization or outsourced to external resources. Delegate these tasks to individuals who have the necessary skills and expertise, allowing you to focus on activities that align with your strengths and interests.

4. Elevate your role:

As you delegate tasks and free up your time, focus on elevating your role within the company. Take on strategic initiatives, lead the business’s direction, and provide guidance to your team. By elevating your position, you can have a more significant impact on the growth and success of your MSP.
